looking for someone to trust?
we are that someone.

Our History

In 1995, an attorney in Knoxville Tennessee offered Renee Brewer a position as a private investigator after reviewing a file Renee compiled for the attorney. She passed then and took a iob closer to home in the world of television. In 2008, Renee was laid off, it was at this time that a career as a private investigator became appealing.

In 2017, Renee rescued a six-year-old child who had been abducted by her mother and her criminal boyfriend. The child, Claire Cooney, was given to Renee for safekeeping until her father could return to Nashville to pick her up. During that 24 hours, every news station in town was at the door. Renee gave several interviews but felt the real victory was getting Claire out of the cold Cherokee National Forest and back to the safety of her father.

After making headlines, StillWatch Investigations took off.

About StillWatch

In 1995, an attorney in Knoxville Tennessee offered Renee Brewer a position as a private investigator after reviewing a file Renee com-piled for the attorney. She passed then and took a iob closer to home in the world of television. In 2008, Renee was laid off, it was at this time that a career as a private investigator became appealing.

Renee reached out for guidance of a long-time investigator Jack Hager. After 4 years with Hager Investigations, Renee set out on her own with Jack’s blessing and StillWatch Investigations began.

In 2017, Renee rescued a six-year-old child who had been abducted by her mother and her criminal boyfriend. Every case is different. We charge an hourly rate. We do not pad the bill, the client is billed for the exact hours used. Once a schedule is agreed upon, the client is billed for the hours to be worked. The client pays the invoice in advance. If the surveillance produces quick results, the client may be due a refund of unused hours. Our published rate is $85 per hour per investigator and a fuel charge. We pay our team drive time of one hour per investigator per day. We suggest a client think of this charge as $100 per hour for a quick reference. A client may need one hour or more than 40 hours. If your case requires 24 hour a day surveillance we will need a surveillance plan before we can quote the rate.

Because we have 23 investigators (and growing), we are able to handle cases quickly. Due to our large staff, we are sometimes available within the hour! We do prefer 24 hours notice if possible.

Every case is different. Some cases only require 1 investigator while others can require 5. We have a total of 23 investigators on hand to help you!

Generally speaking, if someone is in an active adulterous relationship we normally can find the proof in about three days. We have had cases take two weeks before we got evidence. We have been blessed enough to have smart clients who can tell us exactly where to be and when to be there. So every case is different in relation to time.

An investigator needs to be a good communicator and attentive to the particular needs of the case. Beware of large retainers. Get the names of every investigator that works on your case. Make sure every investigator can provide photos every 30 minutes to prove he or she was on the case. Check with the BBB, and google reviews for complaints. Read the reviews to make sure they are real reviews. We only want real organic reviews at StillWatch Investigations. Ask for references. Ask the investigator what you should expect in your case.

Questions to ask an investigator:

Are all of the people working my case or looking at my information licensed by the state?

Will the invoice show exactly which hours were worked?

Will I have a report within 24 hours?

Will you refund any unused hours?

Exactly how many hours will be worked if I have to pay a retainer?

Yes, we provide an affidavit to the attorney in advance. We are available for pre-trial phone calls at no charge to the client. When we appear in court our standard rates apply so we hope your attorney will get us in and out of court quickly.

Yes, the information you provide in the intake form is kept confidential. We do have a generic confidential agreement if you need one. Some clients like to have their attorney draw up a confidentiality agreement and we are happy to sign that for the client. Some clients require all of their files to be destroyed at the end of the case and we are happy to do that as well. If your information is not destroyed it is secured in our files if you should ever need it in the future.

No job is too small and no job is too big for StillWatch Investigations. The drive-bys will be billed according to the location we make every attempt to get the closest investigator for efficient service.

Yes, we have a large team of women. We normally start at a downtown nightclub with six investigators or more. Two of our investigators drive for Uber which allows us to sit right in front of nightclubs while other investigators are inside. On the inside once an investigator has been seen she is released and the rest of the team stays with it. By the end of the night we usually have two investigators left and we can stay with a subject up to 24 hours a day.  Our team is large enough to work in shifts.

We can discuss this over the phone. If your phone bill is seen by your spouse you must find a way to call without the call being detected.  Some clients download Google voice in order to call privately.

We can discuss this over the phone but we do know the best lawyers in Davidson County Sumner County Wilson County and Williamson County.

In every case where we had to testify in court over a spouse cheating it did make a difference to the final settlement. Attorneys tell people it’s a no-fault state, however when the court is shown how much a cheating spouse has spent on the adulterous relationship or how the relationship has damaged the children it does make a difference. What really matters in court is the attorney you choose.

My first suggestion is to seek help from the Vanderbilt behavioral clinic. Your child may need a forensic psychologist. The reports from these types of doctors are eligible to be read aloud in court. Sometimes parent alienation goes on behind closed doors and we can’t document it. What we can document is any behavior that is against a court order. We can also sit close to them in a restaurant and listen to what they say if they are actively making derogatory comments about the other parent to the child.
